How we keep them:
We prefer to keep them in groups with 3-4 males and 6-8 females. The
aquarium size
is 40 liters and there is a lots of floating
hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum), some snails and a 1-2 cm thick
layer of peat on the bottom. The water is hard, 12-14 gH, 500 micro
Siemens and 8,2-8,4 in pH. I collect the peat every week when I
change the water and I incubate the eggs for 5 month before it’s
time to hatch them. The fry grows fast and we c an see the
difference between males and females when they are 19 days old. |
